Shell-and-tube-based heat exchangers for oil separation

The oil rectifier is designed to carry vapours at high velocity, which draws the oil into the pipe. The outlet pipe from the rectifier leads to the suction line from the evaporator, and then on to the compressor, where oil separation takes place.
