All HFC refrigerants are heavier than air. If a leak occurs, the HFC displaces the air in any given space – which is potentially lethal. HFC leakages also affect the environment, and replacement increases operating costs.

Sabroe Unisafe II HFC detection equipment therefore uses semi-conductive/chemosorption and infrared absorption sensor technologies to provide warning about any leakages so that appropriate measures can be taken.
