The renowned Sabroe refrigeration brand was a part of the transaction when Johnson Controls acquired YORK International Corporation in December 2005. Johnson Controls’ refrigeration capabilities are now unmatched, and the customer wins it all. A number of very interesting Sabroe products will be presented on the Johnson Controls stand (Hall 5, stand No. 303) at this year’s IKK exhibition in Nuremberg.
Hear less, see less, experience more
A completely new Sabroe product - the SABCube variable-speed screw compressor - is based on a concept never seen before. A well-proven technology applied in a highly innovative way delivers exceptional operating efficiency. The variable speed drive technology has been optimised and combined with both a specially designed hybrid permanent magnet motor and a screw compressor with fewer moving parts and greater efficiency than the compressor it replaces. The SABCube also features an innovative oil management system. These technologies are all fully integrated into one compact unit monitored by a Unisab control system.
The SABCube compressor package reduces energy costs by as much as 30%. It is specially designed to automatically operate at the maximum efficiency available for any required output. The service costs have been reduced due to a design with less moving parts and a detailed preventative maintenance schedule. The SABCube is also extremely compact and quiet compared with conventional fixed-speed compressors.
Completely new Sabroe screw compressor programme
The new Sabroe screw compressor range comprises 21 units with displacements from 204 to 9053 m³/h. The compressors are ideal for a wide range of industrial and marine applications where reliability and low operating costs are crucial requirements, and they are designed for the most common refrigerants and process gases.
The new SAB screw compressor series features up-to-date solutions at very competitive prices including roller bearings for thrust and radial loads, integrated oil ways, variable capacity and volume ratio control, integrated suction filter, economiser and refrigerant injection oil cooling ports. The unit design has been simplified ensuring a minimum of external pipes and components. Its very small footprint has paved the way to significant reductions in space requirements and building costs. The Sabroe units are designed to be extremely service-friendly. All main components are accessible from the same side of the unit, allowing easy and cost-saving maintenance
All units are equipped with the renowned Sabroe Unisab compressor controller. This ensures compatibility with all existing installations and ultimate compressor protection, part load efficiency and the lowest possible operating costs.
Best features enhanced in Sabroe chiller programme
The very successful range of Sabroe ChillPACs with reciprocating compressors has now been supplemented by a ChillPAC series based on Sabroe screw compressors. The combination of the new variable-speed screw compressor, SABCube, and the ChillPAC provides the customer with a number of benefits. 50% less footprint, 35% lower unit, 15% lower weight, and maybe best of all – a 60% smaller ammonia charge and a reduced noise level. Using the SABCube screw compressor with VSD also provides the chiller with an optimised COP and capacity/line power ratio and outstanding part load efficiency.
The new range of Sabroe ammonia chillers based on screw compressors makes the Sabroe ChillPAC programme one of the most comprehensive chiller programmes in the refrigeration business.
Unisab III – designed to exceed customer expectations
Sabroe introduces a new versatile compressor controller to follow the well-known Unisab II controller that has served the refrigeration market with great success for more than a decade. The new Unisab III controller, which is actually the fifth generation of Sabroe controllers, has been updated with a graphics display, and great focus was put on easy access. The controller will suit both reciprocating as well as screw compressor applications.
The Unisab III controller is web server-based for remote access and has extensive communication capability for easy integration and exchange of information in a total controls solution with other systems, such as PLC and BMS. The Unisab III can be installed, started up and forgotten …!
