Compact, with improved safety and reliability
Sabroe designed the new range of ChillPAC ammonia chillers with a focus on compact size, light weight and a minimal refrigerant charge. Other parameters given high priority in the design process included efficiency, energy costs and environmental impact with an additional focus on safety and reliability.
The Sabroe ChillPAC design is based on the flooded evaporating system, using ammonia only. This keeps environmental impact to a minimum. Compared with ammonia chillers on the market that use plate heat exchanger technology, the Sabroe ChillPAC range uses an exceptionally low refrigerant charge. This results in safer installations and lower life cycle costs.
Sabroe has installed more than 1,000 packaged ammonia chillers during the last 15 years. The success of The PAC as these superb chillers are commonly called in the industry has made its mark in a wide range of refrigeration applications.
Sabroe has thus acquired a wealth of experience and know-how on site at factories and within its own R&D department. This means that Sabroe is constantly adding new features and updates to the tried-and-tested basic design.
To remain at the forefront in this market segment, Sabroe focuses on providing a chiller system with the lowest possible refrigerant charge, as well as using a refrigerant that is also future-compatible. Other important factors are compact size and a high coefficient of performance (COP).
Variable speed drive, in which the compressor automatically adjusts to load variations and thus always operates at maximum efficiency, is considered a key feature in modern chiller design.
Featuring star-delta or variable speed drive, the new ChillPAC chiller range is therefore ideal for numerous applications, including the commercial and air-conditioning markets. Sabroe experience over the last 45 years has shown that variable speed drive in fact provides users with clear benefits in almost all applications.
Significant advantages of the Sabroe ChillPAC ammonia chillers include
flooded evaporating system with high full-load and part-load efficiency
very low ammonia charge with future-compatible refrigerant
very compact design
fully welded heat exchangers, pre-formed pipes and many built-in functions to improve safety and reliability.
